The Heart’s Prison

When the heart is confused by multiple rhythms, and chords aren’t harmonizing…The song of love is no longer instrumental…and the lyrics are caged until loving again feels safe…

I don’t want my heart to rest in prison,

Fake love is like serving a 20-to-life sentence…

This is my fear,

No real love in my hemisphere…

Losing the hope of love

Because it’s too many demons here on Earth…

When will my heart pulsate mutual passion,

When will I land on the plank

Safely falling from the sky in trusted actions…

Will I meet the right one to keep my heart free,

Or do I rest in loving myself unconditionally…

Will she have the power of love to stop my heart from beating sorrow,

Will she fill it with joy

So it will pump a hum of songs into endless tomorrows…

Sometimes you have to put your heart in a cage and love harder on yourself until the right one comes along and love you the way you deserve… 💜🙏🏾🏳️‍🌈 #theheartsprison
